On February 1, 2018, Student Accessibility Services and Career Services are offering an opportunity for students with disabilities and medical conditions to connect with employers who are passionate about recruiting, empowering, and retaining employees with diverse abilities. Career support agencies will be available to talk about how they can help you find employment!

Discussion topics will include: recruitment strategies around people with diverse abilities; duty to accommodate and how organizations support the diverse needs of their employees; disclosure and how much information an employee should share with their employers. Workplace support agencies for persons with accessibility needs will also be sharing their information and will be available for discussion.

This highly interactive session will be in roundtable format, where 4-5 students will have the opportunity to connect with 2 employers per table and meet at least 4-6 employers during the session. Open networking with employers and support agencies will follow. Handouts can be emailed and will be available at the event with employer and support agency contact information.

Please contact Mary Cole at Student Accessibility Services no later than Friday, January 26th if you require accommodations for this event – email or call 403.210.9457.
