The Engineering Students’ Society is launching a new initiative this year to engage both upper year and incoming students. The ESS Peer Mentorship Program is designed to match incoming first year students with an upper year mentor based on their interests. The program can be very flexible with your schedules with three main events, and minimum two casual check ins with your mentee or mentor each semester.
Upper Years
- Now that you’re old and wise, this is an opportunity to step into a mentor position, and exercise leadership while providing guidance to the next cohort of engineering students. You will be matched with a mentee based on your department and involvements, which is a great chance to share your experiences while encouraging students to get involved.
First Years
- This is a fabulous chance to secure a friendly face on campus that knows the ins and outs of engineering and can be there for any questions throughout your first year. Ask away any concerns you have, and learn more about departments and student clubs that interest you.
We’re extremely excited to launch this program and spots are filling up quickly. Applications will remain open until September, but sign up now to secure your spot. The application takes no more than five minutes to complete, and ensures a chance to meet a friend you might not cross paths with otherwise!
