Spritz and Readsy

Spritz is text streaming technology designed to remove the eye movement associated with traditional reading methods, thereby making reading more efficient: you spend less time moving your eyes and more time processing content. Spritz now offers a number of ways to access this technology:

  • the Spritzlet, bookmarklet technology which allows you to spritz every HTML page on the web
  • Readsy will spritz text from uploaded PDF files, cut and pasted text, and text pulled from a URL
  • various iOS and Android apps powered by Spritz

UToday: Can exercise help the depressed brains of teens?

From the January 23, 2014 issue of UToday: Scientists at the Alberta Children’s Hospital and the University of Calgary are teaming up with the YMCA Calgary to study the effect of intensive aerobic activity on brain plasticity and as a potential new therapy for depression in teens. The pilot study will involve 30 teenagers suffering from mild to moderate major depressive disorder who have not received treatment for their condition. It is expected to be completed in two years.
